I enjoy the play in this image. The tugging of the hair by the over energised horse type animals dwarfing the body of the woman. The hair on her head looks like an umbilical cord.

The mark making is so immediate, it surprises me this can be done on an i-pad! This looks like a monotype. I find it a compelling image. I see two bird like creatures disputing ownership of a child. Ravelling or unravelling her hair, perhaps messing with her head. A custody dispute, perhaps. She is wading through mess, and the spattering implies pain.

The mess we get in over love and beliefs around possession are what come to mind.

Perhaps we should remember Kahlil Gibran’s words; “Your children are not your children. They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself. They come through you but not from you…”
