Among other things – educator, designer, costumier, performer and gardener – I am an artist. My practice is rooted in the meanings and possibilities of materials. I'm interested in the transformation of discarded or overlooked subjects and matter into eloquent objects that speak of the human experience. The work, at once seductive and unsettling, inhabits a place at which beauty and horror meet. My most recent work was based on personal experience of infertility and assisted conception. I'm currently developing the theme in partnership with Liverpool Women’s Hospital for a solo exhibition in 2014.
